Founded in 2018, the company designs and manufactures address numbers, mailboxes, illuminated addresses and interior signage in Shefford, Quebec, for condo towers, rental buildings and commercial properties.

Patrick and Marjolaine, the Founders

Before founding My Address Number, Patrick Fontanals ran a lettering company serving construction contractors in the Granby area. While making their address plaques, he noticed the lack of choice on the market: outdated or low-quality products, or a long and costly process through specialized shops.

Marjolaine Audet-Robert, his partner, joined him to bring the project to life, notably by designing the website, developing the customer experience and growing the business. Together, they standardized the models and simplified the purchase of address numbers and address plaques. What started with two people is now a team of eight.

From Coast to Coast

Our first sale dates back to November 1, 2018. Back then, we offered three products: the Modern address plaque, Contemporary numbers (12-inch size only) and Prestige numbers.

Today, our range includes different sizes and models of address numbers, mailboxes, illuminated addresses and signage for condos and businesses, and new products are added every year.

In 2020, we decided to offer our products to our English-speaking neighbours. We needed a name that would inspire their trust without changing who we are, and that's how My Address Number was born. You may sometimes see a different logo, but it's the same company, with the same quality and the same values.

Our Time Facing the Dragons

In 2021, we pitched My Address Number on Dans l'œil du dragon (in French) and, in 2023, we went back in front of the cameras with Dragons' Den on the English-language side, where Philip and Kimberly, our business partners for the English-speaking market, pitched on our behalf. But what we remember most is not the offers we received, it's the welcome: Canadians were just as excited as the dragons.

Our appearances left a mark on people: they still talk to us about it today, five years later. These two appearances had a very real effect on the business: higher sales, new hires, partnerships with local companies and a wider network of resellers.

The public's reception was magical! The wave of compliments and encouragement from our customers, friends and partners was incredible, but the most precious memory is having shared this moment with our children.

Made Here, Certified by Les Produits du Québec

Several of our products carry the Fabriqué au Québec or Produit du Québec certification, awarded by Les Produits du Québec, an independent non-profit that verifies and certifies the Quebec origin of products according to rigorous, recognized criteria.

Our Contemporary, Bungalow, Picto and Condo lines, as well as our Modern address plaque, carry the Fabriqué au Québec certification, while our Urban mailbox is certified Produit du Québec.

 A Few Awards

We meet our customers in person every year at many home shows, and we sometimes come back with awards:

Our Values, in Practice

Quality

Every product that leaves the workshop goes through our hands before it ships. We choose materials that stand up to Canadian winters, not just a first summer, which is why we offer a warranty on our products.

Innovation

We develop and refine our own products right here, drawing on the real needs of our customers. We also innovate in how we make them, looking at every step to cut waste and unnecessary packaging: reusable bins for transport between our partners, recyclable packaging, and recovery of our raw material offcuts. In total, about 15 tonnes of material from our production are recycled every year.

Simplicity

We always choose the simplest way of doing things, for you as much as for us. That’s why our installation kits include everything you need, from the template to the silicone, and why our team is easy to reach.

Humanity

Behind every order, there’s a real person who answers, whether it’s to help you choose the right size or to give advice. We take the time to listen before we sell. During assembly, a real person takes the time to check every order and slip in a handwritten thank-you note.

Efficiency

We reply quickly, we build with care, and we usually ship within one to three days. For us, doing things well also means not keeping you waiting.
